I Introduction (Back to Table of Contents)
Coresuite Enterprise Search is available as both, the standard Coresuite Enterprise Search window and as a widget for SAP Business One Cockpits.
Due to ongoing issues with custom widgets, we announced many years ago that we no longer support Coresuite widgets - see the following FAQs: cockpit issues - overlapping and/or application crash, coresuite widgets - availability and support for SAP Business One 9.0/9.1/9.2/9.3 and later, coresuite widgets - overview availability and support for SAP Business One.
Yet, many customers still insisted on continuing to use the Coresuite Enterprise Search widget, the only widget that remained available.
At some stage, it emerged that this was mostly because once they enabled the Cockpit functionality, the standard Coresuite Enterprise Search window did not automatically load. To counteract this, we changed the behaviour with Coresuite Enterprise Search version 7.40 and now load the standard Coresuite Enterprise Search window always when active and licensed, no matter if Cockpit is enabled or not.
Lately, when we took a closer look at tickets where it had been reported that Coresuite does not always start as expected and/or not all expected modules or menu items were loaded/usable/available, we found that even when nobody appeared to have added the Coresuite Enterprise Search widget to any of their Cockpits, they still encountered the aforementioned issues some times.
We, therefore, decided to remove the Coresuite Enterprise Search widget by default but added an option re-activate it at your/the Customer's own discretion.
II New Features (How-To) (Back to Table of Contents)
Both features can be switched on/off via
Tools->User-Defined Windows->COR_SEARCH_CONF - enterprise search
- Enable Autoload (Back to Table of Contents)
This is a company-wide setting and is by default set to "Y".
For any SAP Business One user where Coresuite Enterprise Search is licensed and activated, the standard Coresuite Enterprise Search windows is automatically loaded. It does not matter if the Cockpit is activated or not.
We do not recommend changing this setting. You can change it at your own discretion. - Enable Widget (Back to Table of Contents)
This is a company-wide setting and is by default set to "N".
This setting removes the Coresuite Enterprise Search Widget (the last available Coresuite Widget) from the Widget Gallery.
We do not recommend changing this setting. You can change it at your own discretion and accept that you might face issues such as Coresuite not always starting as expected and/or not all expected modules or menu items being loaded/usable/available or usable upon the first addon start.
