coresuite framework 4.0 vs coresuite framework 3.x
Massimiliano Luppis
Greetings,
upgrading our add-on for SAP 9 we noted that compiling with coresuite framework 4.0 produces a sip not running on previous framework version.
Since we need to publish add-ons on corefetch portal, we have now a problem when customers have different framework versions. So we are thinking to publish the same sip with different name:
sipxxx_4.0 and sipxxx_3.x
and then bind any customer SAP systems with the appropriate sip version. Obviously we have to know which framework is installed for every customer.
Is this way correct or are we missing something more simple ?
Thanks in advance for any support
Max

Hi Max,
the way you are suggesting is the correct one.
Add as well a dependency in you sipinfo.xml to framework version 4.00 to avoid someone could install your newest sip without having framework 4.0
Please note that is important that the sip is called always on the same way sipxx.sip but you create two different versions in the portal as other-ways the system will think that sipxx.sip (the previously installed) and sipxxx_4.0 (the new one) are two different sips and will try to extract both every time.
Kind Regards,
paolo
