Control for UDF Best Practice
I haven't done much with CoreSuite and the plethora of options for getting things done makes me want to check what best practice is for my scenario.
I would like to add a combo box to a system form (incoming payments) which is populated from an existing table (OSLP) and is bound to a UDF (U_Slp).
Any advice on the best approach for this?
I suggest to add "new item" but as textedit instead of Combobox (otherwise would have to go the extra mile to populate the valid values). In the "Query" Column of new item insert "SELECT SlpCode as Value, SlpName as Description FROM OSLP"
With that appoach you'd have a textfield with CFL.
Many thanks for your reply. I tried what you suggested and everything is fine but despite setting No target object, a golden arrow still appears,
Is this expected behaviour?
I don't know if it's expected behaviour (I'm not with coresystems but only a user) but I once discovert the same issue. When you once have added a linked type and afterwords Switch back to "not taget object" there still would be the golden arrow. I made a new "new items" function with the same conifg with exeption to Target -- here i didn't choose anything from the start. Afterwards I deletet the first rule.
Perhaps somebody from coresystems knows a more practicable way to get rid off the golden arrow.
