CFL on a Matrix
Roberto Marra
Dear all,
I'm trying to add a CFL on a SalesOrder, matrix itemCode, where you normally choose your item you want to insert in the order. But when I open then the sales order I got an error, that write the standard messagge + "Column is not a text column."
I'm just making some test on CFL feature on a Matrix, so the query is a simple SELECT ItemCode, ItemName FROM OCRD and the writeBackColumn is ItemCode
Thnx in advance
Roberto
PS: Let me say that the same CFL made on another field that is not in a Matrix works properly

Dear Coresuite,
I can understand that users, doesn't know what's the answer related to my question, but I thought that in such a case you can answer me since you created Coresuite Customize, you should know what's going on, seems is not the case... at least I know that I can't rely on Coresuite Team support, but I bought a Coresuite Customize and I'm stuck with my problem and that, let me say is pretty annoying

Hi Anders,
well first of all thank you for replying me, I had lost my hope...
When you press tab on that ItemCode field a CFL standard is open, but unfortunately that one doesn't show batch, just the quantity for item, since we are managing our item by batches, the user should be able to select the oldest batches first (FIFO), so what I thought is to create a Customized CFL that show per item the batches and the data entry of those.
Now considering the fact that is not possible the solution, by point of view are two:
1. Create piece of code that handle this situation via Visual Studio
2. Create an UDF, use Corsuite Customize to create a CFL and then modify the code in order that it write back the value on the ItemCode field.
For you does it make sense, Anders?
Thank you
Roberto
