validation on the forms of some other addon

Hi,

When you have an other add-on - with its own forms - running on a SBO installation, how can one Trigger a validation.

I create a crazy validationstatement that always returns no value ( for testing purposes ) ( something like 'select itemcode from oitm where 1=2' )

Then I created an extra rule in the optimizer with the followin details :
Active : yes
RuleName : ValForSomeAddOn
Type : SQL
Action : Validate
Only Warning : no
Warning text : 'Just testing'
Warningbox : True
Warningstatus : False
FormTypeBasis : NULL
ITEMUIDBASIS : NULL
Formtype : TRI_F_PROJCT ( as displayed with the systeminfo )
ItemUID : C_PStatus ( as displayed with the systeminfo )
EventType : Validate
Before : True
Mode : Tried everything
Expression : see above.

When I do a simular thing on f.i. the offer it works just fine.
However on the addon form it doesn't do anything at all. ( Also no movement in the SQLProfiler ).

Can anyone help me ?

Hi Kris,

if the validation of a field in another add-on fails there are different failuers possible:
- The add-on form is no SAP Form (no SAP events are triggered at all!)
- The add-on itself makes a validation and suppresses the events

Please get in contact with the add-on creator and ask them about this issue!

Hi,

I went to the supplier who confirms the used forms :
- are real SBO forms
- SBO events are not blocked on that form

Hi Kris,

can you please check with the SAP eventspy if the events are really there (as the supplyer said) and add a screenshot with the events here in the forum.

I was about to do this when suddenly it al seemed to work.

There are 3 things that were changed :
- new version of the addon.
- new version of coresuite.
- new patch of SBO

So I'm sorry but I can't give an in dept analyse how the issue was resolved.

It has something with the new version however, because now I can also move fields on that form which was formerly also not possible ( but in which I was not interested at the time ).
