layouts can be opened only from the B1 client on the server

Hi all,

at one of our customers I have the following problem: I can open layouts only from the B1 client installed on the server.
From any other client installation, using the same user, I got the following error:

Variable not set to an instance of an object.

I get the same error both in AddOn / Coresuite / Designer / Layoutdefinition and trying to open the layout directly from Layoutdefinition clicking the SAP icon for layouts (pencil).

Can it be caused by a problem in the clients' installation? On these clients, anyway, everything else works fine.

Which Version of coresuite designer are you using?

What you can try on one of those clients:

- Go to Addons/coresuite designer /Config
- Go to the Tab "Reinstall"
- Press the Button "Reinstall without backup"

I'm using Designer 1.72 on a B1 2007A SP00 PL 30.

I'll try your Reinstall suggestion as soon as I can (I need to have acces to the clients!).

Hi Philipp,

today I performed on the clients the "Reinstall without backup" procedure.
Unfortunately nothing changed, I still get the error
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This happens if I try to open a standard layout but also with brand new layouts created for the customer and linked to user queries.
Isn't the "Reinstall without backup" working only on standard layouts?

What can I try now to have all clients able to open Designer layouts?
