Send document via Fax (and Email)

Hello All!

I created a document which should be send by fax or email.

EMAIL
Sending via email works, nevertheless the body of the email is still not OK. Sometimes blanks are put within words and it is still not possible to fill data from SBO in this body ('Dear name-of-contacperson' in stead of 'Dear sir/madam')

FAX
We use the Microsoft shared fax driver, a fax modem is connceted to the SBS-server and this fax is shared for all users. In SAP B1 Server Suite Manager, the SBO-mailer is set correctly. In the document/PrintDefinition, the SendMode = 2 (we tried SendMode=9 without any success).
If the SBO-fax-button is pressed, the document goes to the standard printer. If the PrintPreview button is pressed, we can press the Print button and then select the fax in stead of any printer; this will start the Send Fax Wizard, where the recipient name and faxnumber has to be entered.

The email-issue already exists for some months and the fax-issue occurred this week; we are very interested in your solution!

This is only a Query issue right?
Fax:
Please let me know if you can send faxes with B1 without using coresuite (Pressing Shift & Fax Button)
If it works with B1 then do you still need to enter the faxnumber or does B1 some magic with it?

Hi Philipp,

I guess the Email is just a query issue. Sending via CC or BCC still doesn't work, but we use the email-address of the receiver as well as the sender in the TO-field.

If a document is sent by fax (Shift Fax-button), I get the normal screeen Send a Message, where I can check the Fax-choose icon to send the document by fax.

Hello Philipp,

Sending faxes from SBO works as follows:
- use the preview button
- choose in the print pulldown box the fax
- the MS Fax Wizard asks you to enter the faxnumber of the recipient
- after entry of all required fields in the fax wizard, MS Fax will send the fax.

SAP also has some notes about this issue : 1121866 and 1101382.

Ah i thought it was automatic (without entering the faxnumber)
So it's like an Fax Printerdriver.
I've attached you an Samplekonfiguration.
In this case we are maybe better off when printing the layout via Faxprinter and generate an activity in the layout Scripts.

Hi Philipp,

The customer wants to be able to choose between printing, mailing or faxing the document. If he want to fax it, the faxnumber should be taken from the BP's contactperson automaticly.

The procedure which I described before is how customer is now working, but automaticly is preferred.

Any suggestion?

For this problem, I used zetax from Equisys
http://www.equisys.com/products/zetafax/

This fax software lets you insert the fax number in the document as embedded code.
