At one of our customers I've installed a fax printer called ZetaFax (www.equisys.com).

This fax printer offers the possibility to define a fax number at the top of the first page in a specific syntax, like %%[Fax:0943726738].

With the pld it's working fine but when I use the LD the fax number is not recognized. Is the print job sent to the printer as a PDF?

Is there any solution for this problem?

coresuite designer renders to gdi+ graphics so the information you put in can't be parsed easely from the fax software.
maybe zetafax has something like an gdi+ parser to get out the number but i don't know the product.

We have a connector to Tobit Faxware which can use a graphic and a jobfile (which contains the number) maybe zetafax has something similar too (needs an special sip & license from us)

Maybe you can send the fax by email?
