In a Nutshell
Work Time Patterns are used to create and manage scheduled working times for employees. These work time patterns can be general patterns, such as for a shift, or custom-made for individual employees.
The Work Time Patterns screen is accessed from the settings tab of the Master Data Management app:
In order to view, create, and manage work time pattern records, you must have requisite permissions for the
Person business object.

A Closer Look
The Work Time Pattern feature consists of the following components:
Work Time Pattern
A work time pattern record is in essence a schedule. This can be a general schedule that is used for multiple employees or a schedule that is associated only with a single employee.
A work time pattern record consists of at least a weekly schedule with at least one Work Day record.
|From||Required. The starting time for the working day.|
|To||Required. The ending time for the working day.|
|Add||Add a new line. This can be used, for instance, if break times are included in the work time pattern. The first line could represent the working time before the break, and the second time could represent the working time after the break.|
|Delete||By deleting the record, the new time will be reflected in the hour count.|
After a work time pattern record has been created it can then be assigned to one or more employees.
Note: Employees can be assigned to multiple work time pattern records so long as there is no overlap between the two work time patterns.
|Person||Required. Select the person you would like to assign to the Work Time Pattern. The work time pattern can be assigned to any person record available in the master data.|
|Start Date||Required. Select/enter the date on which the work time pattern is valid.|
|End Date||The date on which the work time pattern is no longer valid.|
After a work time pattern has been created and assigned to an employee, it will then display on the Planning Board of the Workforce Management app:
Note: in the above image, time slots in grey indicate non-scheduled working times.
